Road To Nowhere
SO much was written about and hinted about Prince Charles’ sixtieth birthday that many people were really bored with it all. First, we had to hear all about what Camilla was planning. Sixty gifts all with special meaning. It’s the kind of thing Charles would like.
Personal photos and poetry do seem to get him going. Then there was the whole furor surrounding his birthday lunch. Camilla did not include certain members of the royal family to the official dinner. Apparently they were too minor. When the minor royals organized a private luncheon for Charles he boycotted the event. He was in a huff because they went and did it without approval. It’s hard to believe anyone would become annoyed because people wanted to celebrate his or her birthday. Charles got all ‘political’ about the gesture and even his mum wasn’t allowed to attend.
It was believed that when Chelsy Davy received an invitation to Prince Charles’s sixtieth bash she was ‘delighted’. Chelsy is a salt of the earth kind of girl. She has no unnecessary airs and graces. Even her mum doesn’t seem too fazed her daughter has a royal boyfriend. Neither mum nor daughter has changed their looks, style or personality to please the royals or the press. They have continued to charm everyone with their unpretentious lifestyle. It is believed Chelsy was offered a private car with a chauffeur to drive her from home to the royal event.
Chelsy turned it down and in her evening gown she used the train to Gloucestershire. Fellow passengers said she looked gorgeous. When she got off at Tetbury station there was no one to meet her. She got hold of someone via the phone. She had to wait in the freezing cold in a skimpy outfit waiting for a car to come and fetch her. It seems Prince Harry can’t cope with ordinary stuff like having his girlfriend collected from a station. Perhaps it’s all just too ordinary for the Prince. Recently, his blonde girlfriend was left stranded at Heathrow because he went to the wrong terminal to meet her. On the other hand, there are plenty of guys who are not royal princes who have been in the same boat.
