Some Men Never Grow Old
The charm of some men is that they never grow up. Well, they do grow up but they always look youthful. These men are called baby faces, and there are many women who find them absolutely adorable. The perfect baby face is Jack Ryder. He just doesn’t seem to age. He looks like a gorgeous little choir boy. This look has the aura of innocence. Of course, it doesn’t mean they are actually innocent. Jack was very successful when he was in EastEnders. He played the character of Jamie Mitchell. He made the role his own for four years. EastEnders female viewers fell in love with Jamie Mitchell. This Mitchell character could not have been more different from the other tough Mitchell characters.
It was when Jack got married that he made the decision to leave EastEnders. Yes, we know, he doesn’t look old enough to have a wife. But he did marry Kym Marsh. Jack, bless him, wanted to spend more time with his wife. Even though they were very sad, this was another reason for his female fans to love him even more. Jack tried his luck in Hollywood but nothing came of it. So much for Jack sacrificing his role in EastEnders to be with Kym; she went ahead and got herself a cushy role in Coronation Street. Kym’s made quite a name for herself. There doesn’t seem to be anything holding her back.
Jack and Kym have decided to part ways. The two will be divorcing. This seems to have given Jack a bit of a jolt back into reality. His fans will be delighted to know that he is going to be back in the soapies. But this time it’s not EastEnders. Jack will be getting a role in The Archers. This soapie is about country life and country characters. Jack will be playing the character of Ryan. Ryan has an association with Alistair Lloyd. Lloyd is the country vet. Jack will take part near the end of September and he will stay with The Archers for about three months.
EastEnders is becoming known as a soapie with sometimes controversial as well as violent storylines. The BBC has always maintained that EastEnders is true to life as their viewers know it. They also warn their viewers if anything could be viewed as sensitive. But the BBC has landed in hot water with the public watchdog because they did not do enough to warn viewers. The Archers may be a lot more timid as far as the violence is concerned, but it has carried contentious plots. The Archers did cause a bit of a stir when it showed a gay love relationship. There were also explicit shower scenes.
Jack is a seasoned soapie actor and no doubt he will cope with whatever is thrown at him. He gained a lot of experience from EastEnders and he will be taking along many of his female fans. They will follow him quite willingly. His estranged wife Kym is being kept very busy by Coronation Street.
