Paul McCartney writes love song to Heather
One of the benefits of having an ex husband who is much older in years is hopefully wisdom. After a long and hard battle resulting in divorce Sir Paul McCartney has demonstrated he is indeed a man of wisdom. He has written a song about his ‘angry’ and according to some ‘vindictive’ ex wife Heather Mills. It is not just a song. Sir Paul has written and recorded a love song in honor of Heather. The song is titled ‘My Soul’ and is a joint effort between McCartney and Nitin Sawhney. Sawhney is regarded as something of an Indian music ‘guru’.
Sir Paul has not uttered a word in his defence throughout the two year divorce battle. All the while Heather ranted and raved he kept a stiff upper lip and did not retaliate. ‘My Soul’ is about his feelings towards his ex wife. According to Sawhney the track is ‘very emotional and a very powerful song’. The track will be heard on Sawhney’s latest album called ‘London Undersound’. The album is to be released in October of this year.
It will come as a surprise to know that Sir Paul‘s song portrays his gratitude to Heather for helping him get through the difficult time after his beloved Linda’s death. He sings about his sadness that things did not work out for them. He also places blame on others for not being honest and the paparazzi for being too invasive. His lyrics also explain the two never had time to get to know one another because the relationship was so public.
The lyrics make it clear that Sir Paul knows that Heather is a misunderstood and complex person with a past. However, he is disappointed that she never opened up to him about her past.
There is nothing judgmental or critical in the song. It is clearly a peace offering. After all has been said and done Heather has an eternal tribute penned and sung by one of the most famous musicians of all time. He is genuinely sad their marriage did not work and ‘feels sorry’ for the troubled Heather.
