Peaches Geldof elopes in Vegas

Wild child Peaches Geldof has married her American boyfriend in Las Vegas.

19 year old Peaches allegedely called her father Bob just before the ceremony to tell him of her plans.  She wed boyfriend Max Drummey, 23 year old member of the band Chester French.

The pair got together in July, but have apprarently known each other for several years.

There is the usual gossip that surfaces when hasty marriages take place.  The most obvious one is that the bride is pregnant.  But Peaches is making no attempt to deny this.  Apparently she has said to friends ‘I’ll make a good mum’.  But they seem to think it’s just another way to get attention.  There are also the insinuations that the couple is using the elopement as a marketing ploy.  Max will soon be releasing an album and Peaches is starting her own clothing label. 

Now the teen bride is in Majorca  visitng dad Bob Geldof.  When the teenager arrived in Majorca she was not wearing a wedding ring.  Her new husband was seen at a gig in Los Angeles and he was also not wearing a wedding ring.  He said the wedding was ‘nice’ and that he ‘was not drunk’ during the ceremony.

Many peole are skeptical about the long term future of the marriage.  Paddy Power are offering odds of 12/1 that the couple will still be married in a month's time and 5/1 that the wedding will last more than 3 months.
