William Hill have refused to open a book on the identity of the new Dr Who after being flooded with inquiries from potential punters wishing to bet on Robert Carlyle being the next TimeLord, following David Tennant's departure from the programme.
"I'm afraid that it is a question of Dr No for Dr Who punters" said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams. "We got stiffed when Tennant took over from Eccleston and will be steering clear this time - and it seems that the role is Carlyle's should he want it, which makes it impossible for us to open a book."
