Mercury Wheel Becomes Cammegh's Top Selling Product
Customers of UK based roulette manufacturer Cammegh have been applauding the success of the Mercury Wheel, as it supersedes the Cammegh Classic as the company's top selling wheel.
A measure of the success of any product lies in the black and white statistics of the sales figures concerning not only the number of units sold but also the diversity of its worldwide appeal.
With installations for Cammegh's Mercury Wheel now including Australia, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Morocco, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Slovenia and, of course, the United Kingdom, there is no doubting it scores highly on both fronts. But taking into consideration the extensive global spread of Cammegh's previous wheels, the news that the Mercury is now leading the company's global charge, puts its success into a very complimentary perspective.
Peter Hannibal, electronic gaming director, Gala Group, is one of many operators thrilled with the Mercury Wheel. "Gala have been developing technologies with Cammegh for a number of applications," he said. "I continue to be impressed by the focus and commitment we see and by the attention to detail and quality of their Mercury Wheel."
Those views were echoed by Martin Watson, director of product development, at Stanley Casinos. "Stanley are delighted with the Cammegh Mercury Wheels," he said. "They are totally reliable, and have operated flawlessly since they were installed in November 2003. Also, the Mercury Wheel's open protocol continues to give us the freedom of choice for peripheral products, which is the perfect scenario for Stanley. I am not surprised to learn that the Mercury Wheel is now Cammegh's top selling product."
The first Mercury Wheel prototype was developed four years ago, and was launched at the London ICE show 2001, introducing its secure in-rim ball sensors, security features preventing illegal spins, and the critically important 'no more bets' feature for the first time.
Cammegh continued to refine the Mercury Wheel and has now established it as, what Cammegh describes, the 'most accurate, reliable and technically advanced manual roulette wheel available in the market place'.
Andrew Cammegh explained: "As roulette became increasingly linked to touch screen betting terminals and winning number displays using on-rim sensor technology, Cammegh recognised the need for a much more secure and reliable system. To eliminate the risk of misalignment to these vulnerable on-rim sensors it was apparent that a totally new method was required."
Cammegh identified this deficiency and have overcome the problems inherent with on-rim sensors by introducing their in-rim technology, a technique already used on hundreds of their automatic roulette wheel Slingshot 1.
Richard Cammegh added: "As a result of this development, the Cammegh Mercury Wheel became the Slingshot's manually operated sibling, sharing its design integrity, maintenance free for life bearing and its highly reliable in-rim sensor technology. Cammegh took the important policy decision to make the Mercury Wheel protocol, open and freely available to anyone wishing to use it, and a result a significant number of touch screen betting terminal manufacturers utilise the Cammegh Mercury Wheel and its communications protocol to partner their system. This has proved to be integral to its success as Cammegh's customers have enjoyed the freedom and related commercial advantages to choose from a wide range of compatible touch screen betting systems," he added.
