With top temperatures recorded all weekend, bookmakers William Hill have reported that punters are piling their cash on temperatures topping 100F in 2006.
In January, William Hill were offering 12/1 for temps to exceed 100F but have since slashed the price by a third to 8/1.
"Weather betting seems to be getting bigger every year and we already have a fair amount of money in the book for temperatures to reach 100F and for the record temperature to be beaten." said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
"It will be the greatest summer ever if England can win the World Cup and temperatures exceed 100F for which we are offering 54/1."
