Flushed With Success - Flush Magazine

Last updated: 13/03/2008 17:51

A new glossy magazine aimed at online casino and poker room players is about to hit UK news-stands. We look at what to expect from Flush.

It's glossy, it's glamorous and it claims to be "the magazine your eyes should be on" - Flush will go on sale across the UK early next month.

According to Production director, Robert Dillon, Flush is aimed 'squarely at online gamblers of all standards and levels of experience', and intended to appeal to women as much as to men. Its editorial content promises a mix of features, articles and interviews, as well as exclusive competitions.

Its main focus will be online casino and poker room gambling, but it also intends to cater for readers with an interest in sport and in sports betting, so a proportion of the content will be in this area.

Among the magazine's backers is boxing promoter and snooker impresario Barry Hearn, owner of sports management company Matchroom Sport. Hints from the editorial team suggest that the flamboyant promoter will contribute to the magazine from time to time.

Although there will be plenty of interest to the seasoned gamer, one of the main aims of the early issues will be to promote online gaming to newcomers, and to those who have been tempted to start, but haven't yet taken the plunge.

Production director Robin Dillon says: "We want to be there for people who are not yet playing. We know that most people are aware of the possibility of playing online, but not everyone is sure how to do it.

"We want to say to them it's easy, safe and secure."

Read & Learn

Early issues will have a strong tutorial aspect to them, with guides to show new players how to get started, how to deposit and withdraw money, and how to play various games such as roulette, poker and blackjack.

But there will also be plenty about the glamour of the games: "We want to be interesting and informative and light-hearted," says Dillon.

There will be articles about, and interviews with, celebrity players, as well as fun features such as a history of gambling in the movies. Regular casinotimes.co.uk readers will, of course, already know all about this from our series on the subject.

Flush will be full colour throughout, and printed on high-quality glossy A4 paper. The first issue, containing 115 pages, will be out on 6 October.

The first three issues, all at a special introductory price of 99p, will be exclusively available from WHSmith, although you'll also be able to pick up copies from land-based casinos, four- and five-star hotels, private members' clubs, gate services and first-class or diamond business lounges. Subscriptions will also soon be available.
