Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:55

By Easter of 2007, Rileys, which owns 168 clubs throughout the UK, are aiming to have live poker tournaments running in around 100 of their clubs nationwide.

The partnership between the two companies sees 888 Casino providing consultancy and support to the running of Rileys Poker.

The Rileys Poker brand will be further enhanced by the development of a new poker website Rileys Poker, which will be provided by the Online Casino using its expertise in online casino and Online Poker.

In addition, the two companies will work together in developing numerous concepts under the Rileys Poker umbrella including poker leagues, regional events and a national poker tournament with a televised final.

There is natural synergy between the two companies. Rileys brand is synonymous with snooker in the UK and 888 is already prominent within the snooker world. 888 is the exclusive sponsor for the 888 World Snooker Championship as well as sponsor of top snooker players; Ronnie O'Sullivan, 888 World Champion Graeme Dott, John Higgins and Ding Junhui.

Rileys existing and new members will be able to take advantage of the new offerings. As well as the live cash tournaments there will also be a variety of online activity including; weekly and monthly online poker tournaments and new online events offering qualifier events for poker tournaments held in Rileys clubs. Members will have the opportunity to win money- can't-buy prizes which include the chance to play snooker against an 888 sponsored player as well as tickets and hospitality at the 888 World Snooker Championship.

This new poker offering is a great opportunity for existing and new Rileys club members.

Gigi Levy, CEO at 888 commented, "This is a hugely exciting, unique and innovative partnership for 888. The co-operation between 888 and Rileys creates a unique customer offering and experience, unparalleled in the offline and online poker world, where customers are able to be part of a community of poker players that meet and play live poker both online and offline."

Peter Haspel, MD of Rileys parent company Georgica added, "Our move to provide live and online poker tournaments to the members of Rileys clubs represents an exciting opportunity for Rileys and broadens the facilities that Rileys offers to its members. The tie up with 888 for the provision of online poker and assistance with the roll out of live poker gives Rileys access to the wealth of experience that 888 has in both online and offline poker."

Live cash poker tournaments roll-out to a vast majority of the 168 clubs is planned by the end of 2007.
