Miliband No Turkey In Race For Labour Leadership
David Miliband's handling of the Turkey crisis has boosted his chances of gaining high office, say punters, who have backed him to second favourite to become the next Labour leader and into sixth favourite to become the next Deputy Leader.
Bookies William Hill have cut Miliband's odds from 12/1 to 10/1 second favourite to become the next Labour Leader with Gordon Brown hot favourite at 1/12 and John Reid drifting out from 6/1 to 11/1 third favourite.
William Hill have cut Miliband from 10/1 to 8/1 to become Deputy Leader for which position Hilary Benn is their 3/1 favourite ahead of John Crudass at 9/2 with Alan Johnson 6/1; Peter Hain and Harriet Harman both 7/1.
And with news that charges are unlikely to be laid against a prominent figure within the cash-for-honours affair, William Hill have lengthened their odds about Tony Blair being arrested during 2007 from 3/1 to 5/1 and for him being charged during the calendar year from 7/1 to 10/1.
