Political Punters Blitz Blears

William Hill have slashed the price of Hazel Blears becoming the next Deputy Leader of the Labour party from 50/1 to 7/1, as punters came piling in on the MP from Salford, in what could be one of the great political betting coups of all time.

"For a couple of hours this morning it was carnage on the trading floor with punters piling on the 50/1. Ms Blears has been backed down to less than a fifth of the price she was twenty four hours ago and we are monitoring the situation very carefully." said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Elsewhere William Hill have trimmed the price of a Hung Parliament from 7/4 to 6/4 following a number of sizeable wagers.
