Playing Pai Gow

Based on a Chinese domino game, Pai Gow isn't as frenetic as most casino games. It is relatively new, having been introduced to casinos about five years ago.For the moment, Pai Gow is not as popular as better known games so the chances of getting a free seat on a bustling Friday night are quite high. One downside however, is that not many online casinos offer Pai Gow.The game is played one on one against the chosen banker, not the house, with one deck of cards and a joker, which can be used as an ace or to complete a flush, a straight or straight flush.Easy As PaiPlay begins with your initial bet and a roll of the dice determines which player gets the first set of seven cards. The players arrange them into a five card hand and a two card hand, which will either be a pair or two individual cards. The best two card hand is a pair of aces, the worst is 2-3.Each set of cards is compared with the banker's. If the player wins both hands, the player wins even money , less a 5% commission. If the player loses one hand and wins one hand, the result is a push and if the banker wins both hands, the player loses the entire wager. It is important to bear in mind that the two card hand must not be greater than your five card hand as otherwise both hands will be 'foul' and the player loses.Any player may elect to be banker and the 5% commission is charged on the net win. When a player is banker, the dealer will play, betting an amount equal to the last bet the player placed when the dealer was banking.
