Casino Ready To Open Doors To New Resort Hotel

Seneca Allegany Casino is ready to redefine the landscape of Western New York's Southern Tier.

A Grand Opening ceremony has been planned for the new Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel on Friday, March 30 at Noon. The facility is located on the Seneca Nation of Indians' Allegany Territory in the city of Salamanca.

"This is one of the most significant developments in this region since railroad engines first rolled into Salamanca," said Brian Hansberry, President and CEO, Seneca Gaming Corporation.

Nestled among the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, the $160 million world-class resort features a 212-room resort hotel, complete with three new restaurants, full-service spa and salon, and indoor swimming pool, as well as a full-service casino. The 68,300 square-foot grand casino floor offers guests 2,235 slot machines and 40 table Games.

Salamanca, located in Cattaraugus County, is unique in that it is the only city in the United States built entirely on an Indian reservation. The city was an important railroad depot at one time, serving as a junction for four railroads: the Erie, Atlantic and Great Western; the Buffalo; the Rochester and Pittsburgh; and the Pennsylvania.

The grand opening comes less than 18 months after ground was broken for the project in October 2005. Seneca Allegany Casino opened as a temporary facility on May 1, 2004.

Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel now employs more than 1,200 workers, making it one of the largest employers in the area.

The Seneca Nation of Indians, through its wholly-owned Seneca Gaming Corporation, operates Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel in Salamanca, and Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls, New York.
