Thoroughly Modern Mili For Labour
Last updated: 13/03/2008 17:05
The Home Office crisis has seen John Reid drift from clear second favourite to succeed Tony Blair as Labour Leader, out to third favourite behind both Gordon Brown and, now, David Miliband.
"A week ago, Reid was a 5/1 chance to become Labour Leader with Miliband at 14/1, but now Reid has drifted out to 11/1 while Miliband has come in to 10/1. In fact, Mr Reid has been about as popular as Jade Goody with political punters" said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
The bookies now make Gordon Brown 1/12 favourite to become the next Leader, with Miliband 10/1 and Reid 11/1.
