A total of 617,037 tickets won prizes in the Tuesday, March 21, 2006 Mega Millions drawing, as players from coast to coast are watching the jackpot grow.
Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $68 million jackpot, the jackpot for the Friday, March 24, 2006 drawing grows to an estimated $82 million.
Seven tickets came within a heartbeat of winning the jackpot. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number.
Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
