Stanley Leisure, the biggest UK casino operator, has said that it has been granted a licence for a 30,000 square foot casino in the centre of Nottingham.
Stanley Leisure said it expected to open the casino towards the end of 2006 at a refit cost of £7m.
The group is spending £100m to upgrade its UK casino estate to take advantage of changes to Britain's 40-year-old gambling laws.
Stanley Leisure said its latest footfall figures were up 16 percent due to the relaxation of tough membership rules from October 2005.
