Mega Millions Jackpot Grows To $56 Million

Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:40

So you think nobody won Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing? Not so. Even without a jackpot winner, there were more than 500,000 winning tickets. That includes eight tickets that came within just one number of hitting the jackpot. Now the jackpot for the Friday, March 17, 2006 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated annuity value of $56 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 27-28-30-42-50 and the Mega Ball number was 22.

Those eight tickets that each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number were purchased in California, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York and Washington.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
