Grandmother Wins Online Casino Jackpot

A grandmother has won almost £200,000 in an online casino's biggest payout.

Retired post office worker Rita Driscoll, 64, is £196,000 better off after placing a 40p bet on an online fruit machine at Coral Online Casino on Thursday night.

Her husband and her son were in bed at South Ockenden, Essex, when she logged on to the virtual casino and landed the jackpot within 10 minutes.

She said they would go on holiday to celebrate and she would use her money to look after all of her family.

"My husband always says that I have 'lucky hands' but my biggest win till now was just £1,300 at bingo. I was shaking when I realised how much I'd won," Mrs Driscoll said.This is the company's biggest ever payout for an online bet.

"This is a record-breaking payout by Coral for a bet placed on a computer but it couldn't have happened to a nicer lady," said spokesman Simon Clare.
