Ritz Roulette Gang Banned From Budapest
The Ritz roulette scam might have caused shockwaves in the UK casino industry but not in Hungary where the trio, who allegedly used a high-tech laser scanner to beat the system at the high-end London casino, are well known to Hungarian gambling experts and have been banned from all the top Budapest casinos.
Sandor Bikali, manager of the Varkert Casino in the Hungarian capital, revealed that gamblers had been caught red-handed using similar gadgets, confirming that the alleged laser scanner device had been spotted being used in Hungary. He added that he believed the woman involved in the London incident was on the Varkert's blacklist.
Another Hungarian source, meanwhile, believed 'oglers' were behind the Ritz UK Casino scam and that Serbs are the professionals behind it. He added that there are actual ogler schools in Serbia. Trained to follow the movement of the ball, the so-called 'evil eyes' can estimate which part of the wheel it is likely to land in and so shorten the odds.
