Casino Plan Faces Further Delays

A plan opposed by Nottingham City Council leader to create a new casino in Nottingham has been put on hold.
The Glasshouse on Huntingdon Street is to house students. Plans to have a bingo hall on the first floor were replaced with the casino scheme.
These have met with just one objector - the local ward councillor and city leader Jon Collins.
The council's executive board has now decided to defer a decision on the plans until a future meeting.
Neither police nor planning officers raised any objections to the casino, but Mr Collins said he feared increased late night noise.
