There were red faces at the Tote after lucky punters cashed in when the wrong win dividend was announced.

It is not known how much the blunder at Kemptoncost the Wigan-based operation, but it's a safe betthe beneficiaries, who picked up more than six times what they were due, will not be returning themoney.

It took almost two minutes before the error, declaring a £22.50 dividend on winner Revole when it should have been £3.60, was spotted.

The Racing Post has heard of at least two on-course punters who profited - including one who twice questioned his bumper £220.50 payout for a £10 stake with staff only to be assured it wascorrect - and Tote Direct and betting shop customers were also included in the unexpected windfall.
