Noble's Blackpool Application Rejected

Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:43

The Noble Organisation's application to convert the Palace nightclub in Blackpool into a casino has been rejected on the grounds that it would "open the floodgates for other small casino bids."

Councillor Mary Smith said that Blackpool's development control committee needed to concentrate on the bigger picture.

"We need to see where out super casino bid takes us before we allow any small casino applications," she commented. "Blackpool is waiting for the regional casino decision and it would be foolish to spoil our chances for that."

It is believed the Noble group will appeal the decision.
