SNP Gambles Goes On As Salmond Odds On To Be First Minister
Alex Salmond has been installed as 4/9 favourite to become Scotland's First Minister following this week's Elections by William Hill who make his Party, the SNP, red hot favourites at 1/3 - the shortest odds they have yet been - to emerge as the largest single Party.
"It is looking incresingly likely that the gamble which forced the SNP's odds right down from 8/1 is going to be successful" said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. "It has been the largest odds-swing in an Election campaign which we can recall."
william Hill make Labour 9/4 to be the largest Party with Jack McConnell 7/4 to be First Minister. The bookies also offer 50/1 Lib Dems to be largest Party, 20/1 Nicol Stephen to be First Minister, and 100/1 Conservatives to be largest Party with Annabel Goldie 33/1 to become First Minister.
