New Poker Channel To
Launch
A
new UK poker and casino lifestyle entertainment channel
launches on Sky Channel 226 and global broadband this
week.
Pokerzone TV is targeted
at the growing audience of poker enthusiasts logging onto
online poker rooms being advertised throughout the UK on
television, magazines and outdoor.
Online rooms have shown
themselves willing to pay high prices to advertise to the
public in Britain - which is regarded as the game's second
major growth market, following the US.
Every day in the UK an
estimated £3.8m is spent in online card rooms
alone.
Advancements in
interactive television and a relaxation of Britain's
gambling laws are helping to fuel the craze.
British poker
personalities such as the Hendon Mob and Dave "The
Devilfish" Ulliot are becoming household names both in the
UK and abroad.
Jim Sibcy, managing
director of Pokerzone, said: "Poker is becoming increasingly
available across a spectrum of UK channels. But I can
guarantee that Pokerzone will provide the most exciting and
up-to-date coverage available."
