Donald Boost For England Cricket
The news that Alan Donald will retain his role as England bowling coach until after the Twenty/20 World Cup is a boost to England's chances and William Hill's offer 10/1 that England win the cup, Australia are the 2/1 favourites with South Africa offered at 4/1. "Hopefully the Donald factor will result in a punt on England because recent form suggests that England will be up against it," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Punters have been keen to back England to beat the West Indies in the second ODI for which they are 1/2 favourites with the West Indies offered at 6/4. Kevin Pietersen is the 3/1 favourite to be England’s top run scorer with Cook offered at 4/1 and Collingwood a 9/2 shot. "After England’s easy win in the first one day, punters have been keen to back England with big sums and we don’t hold out much hope," said Rupert Adams.
