Midnight
Departure For McClaren?
Steve McClaren is a 33/1
shot with William
Hill to walk away
from the England job before midnight following their game
against Andorra on Wednesday.
"It is hard to see how
McClaren could survive a draw or worse result against one of
the minnows of world football, given the media and supporter
flak he has taken after the Israel game, so it would be no
surprise if he were to fall on his sword should England fail
to win, or even if they fluke a narrow victory" said William
Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
With Steve McClaren
insisting that all is well between him and Wayne Rooney,
William Hill are betting on what will happen first to the
Manchester United player in the match against Andorra, and
offer 10/11 that he scores; 10/3 that he is substituted; 9/2
that he receives a yellow card; 11/2 the full time whistle
blows; 6/1 treated on the pitch by physio/trainer and 40/1
that he is red-carded.
