McClaren
13/2 To Be Gone By Saturday Midnight
Bookmakers
William
Hill are offering
odds of 13/2 that Steve McClaren will cease to be England
manager before midnight on Saturday, following England's
game against Israel.
McClaren is 2/1 with
William Hill to be out of his job when the Euro 2008 finals
get underway and England are 2/5 to qualify for those finals
and 7/4 not to.
The bookies have already
installed Martin O'Neill and Terry Venables as 5/1 joint
favourites to succeed McClaren as permanent manager of the
England side. Stuart Pearce is 6/1 third favourite with
William Hill, who also offer 8/1 Curbishley; Scolari; 10/1
Allardyce; Coppell; 12/1 Mourinho; 14/1 Alan
Shearer.
Meanwhile, McClaren has
been installed as 5/1 third favourite to be the next 'home'
international boss to leave his role, with Hills making
Lawrie Sanchez of Northern Ireland 10/11 favourite ahead of
the Republic's Steve Staunton, who is 13/8 second favourite
while John Toshack of Wales is 7/1 and 'new boy' Alex
McLeish of Scotland the 20/1 outsider.
William Hill are quoting
England at 11/10 to keep a double clean sheet in their two
Euro qualifiers against Israel and Andorra. They are 2/1 to
concede just one goal in the two games; 7/2 two; 8/1 three;
40/1 four or more.
Andy Johnson is a 1/ 2
chance with William Hill to start both of England's Euro
qualifiers against both Israel and Andorra. He is 6/4 to
fail to start both, and Hills offer 9/4 that David Nugent
will play any part in the Israel game.
The bookmakers have also
opened a book on how many goals England will score in the
two goals and offer 5/2 for three or less; 11/10 for 4 - 6;
and 7/4 seven or over.
England are 8/11 to take
all six points from the two games; 7/4 to take four; 7/2
three; 25/1 two; 25/1 one; 250/1 none.
William Hill have opened a
book on whether certain England players will play the whole
game against Israel at the weekend. The bets depend on the
players starting, and Hills offer 1/5 that Jamie Carragher
will last the whole game, 10/3 that he doesn't; 1/4 that
Steven Gerrard will, 11/4 that he won't; 2/7 Owen Hargreaves
does; 5/2 he doesn't; 1/ 2 Rooney does, 6/4 doesn't; 5/6
Johnson does; 5/6 he doesn't.
William Hill have
installed England as 8/11 favourites to win their vital Euro
qualifying game in Israel this weekend - with the home side
7/2 and the draw a 21/10 chance.
