2008 Odds Latest - McClaren Out?

Hill have cut the
odds about Lawrie Sanchez becoming the next England manager
from 100/1 to 33/1 and have made Steve McClaren 11/8 to
cease to be England boss before England finish their
qualifying games; and 6/5 to be gone by the time the Euro
2008 Finals start.
He is 8/13 still to be in
charge when the finals get underway.
"Steve McClaren's body
language is certainly suggesting that he is not enjoying the
pressure and one more defeat is likely to prove fatal to his
chances of survival" said William Hill's spokesman Graham
Sharpe.
"Absolutely no-one is
prepared to back McClaren to see the job through to the Euro
Finals and beyond. At half time of the Andorra game our 33/1
that he would be gone by midnight after the game looked a
great bet."
William Hill believe that
McClaren may be facing a threat from within his own camp -
and they have installed his right hand man, Terry Venables
as 5/1 joint favourite to succeed him on a permanent
basis.
Martin O'Neill is also 5/1
joint favourite, with Stuart Pearce 8/1 joint third
favourite along with Curbishley and Scolari; they then
offer: 10/1 Allardyce; Coppell; 12/1 Mourinho; 14/1 Alan
Shearer; 25/1 Wenger.
There is some good news
for McClaren - William Hill make him a 2/1 chance to leave
his job before his England Cricket equivalent, Duncan
Fletcher, who is 4/11 to depart before McClaren.
England are now 4/7 with
Hills to qualify for the finals - 5/4 not to; 11/4 to win
their Group (4/6 Croatia; 10/3 Russia; 33/1 Israel) and 8/1
to win Euro 2008.
