Detroit City heads a field
of 10 for tomorrow's Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle at
Cheltenham. The classy five year old heads William
Hill's betting
ahead of dual Champion Hardy Eustace and last years winner
Brave Inca both at 7-2.
William Hill's spokesman
Ben Clarke commented: "In terms of quantity the Irish
certainly dominate this years race but Straw Bear and in
particular Detroit City are two classy horses that are more
than capable of wresting the Champion Hurdle crown back from
the Irish. Its hard to split the two main Irish challengers
so I wouldn't be surprised to see Detroit City sent off a
very warm order to emulate his former stable companion
Rooster Booster who was the last British trained winner of
the race."
