White Easter Is The New White
Christmas
William
Hill have opened
their betting on a White Easter and offer 4/1 that snow will
fall in London during the 24hrs of Easter Sunday -
significantly shorter odds than the 7/1 available for a 2007
White Christmas. Hills also offer 3/1 for Snow in Edinburgh;
9/2 Birmingham; 5/1 Belfast, Dublin and Cardiff.
"Following the first
significant snow fall we have been inundated with requests
from punters looking to place bets on a White Easter and
statistically it is more likely than snow on Christmas Day",
said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams who added: "With
global warming making it increasingly unlikely that snow
will fall in December, we expect betting on a White Easter
will become more popular than Snow on Xmas Day."
